Most belts under $100 are two thin leather layers glued over a bonded-fibre core. They crack across the fold within two years. This is one 9 oz strip of full-grain leather, edge-burnished and waxed.
The buckle is solid brass and screw-fixed, so you can move it to a new strap later or swap it entirely.
